Walter (Kevin Bacon) is a convicted sex offender released after serving 12 years in prison who moves into a small apartment across the street from an elementary school (not Skyline) and gets a job at a lumberyard. As he struggles to re-assimilate himself into society he lives in constant fear of his co-workers finding out that he is a pedophile while getting the black sheep treatment from his family and being hounded by a suspicious cop. Eventually he gets confronted by his old urges when he befriends a young girl in a public park.
